STRATEGOS brings four things to the party, and
it’s the combination of the four that makes the firm unique.
The first is process and discipline. STRATEGOS has created
a very good process that is focused on growth. They take the typical work
on the external business environment and internal capabilities one step
further than almost anyone else. Few firms are as good at forcing you
to examine the habits you have that constrain your growth.
The second dimension is perspective and object-ivity.
That’s really a function of the seniority of STRATEGOS’ people.
Their perspective comes from having years of experience.
The third element is what I call challenge. All good
consultants challenge your thinking, but STRATEGOS is particularly good
at asking deeper questions, forcing you to surface and ques-tion the unconscious
assumptions that take the company in one direction, and blind it to others.
The fourth element is energy. It may seem an unimportant
intangible in the world of strategy, but at the end of the day, the energy
in the organization is often more important than the intellectual decisions
made in strategy. Because the STRATEGOS process engages a large number
of diverse people right from the start, when STRATEGOS goes away, the
energy level is retained. It isn’t in STRATEGOS – it is in
the people who did the work.
Process, perspective, challenge and energy: it’s
the combination of those four pieces that make STRATEGOS unique.
